Adventure Vs. Human

When adventure hits you right in the face, what do you do?

The other day I went out to Lake Arcadia and had adventurous adrenaline flowing through my bloodstream during this journey of accomplishment. I let my bike guide me and pure happiness relax me while I pedaled my way through nature.
So, when adventure hits you in the face, what will you do?
1)  Go along with it. Appreciate it. Relax.

2) Open the mind to adventure, the future doesn't exist yet.

3) Enjoy every given moment.

Like A Fire In the Sky

Capturing this moment is one of many things that needs to be checked off of the to-do list for the day. I've always wanted to see what the Sun's reflection on the water would be like. I grabbed my GoPro and hopped in a kayak and soared into the aquatic horizon. "It looks like the sky is on fire!" is what I told people while showing them these photos. I get all giddy to know that our Sun is one the main sources of natural energy that we absorb every day and when it goes down we do too, eventually.

Yak Attack!

This group of international students came to the boathouse on a beautiful sunny Saturday. They had never been on a kayak before, so that's where I came into play. They enjoyed every second kayaking on the wonderful Lake Arcadia and were glad I took them out for their first time. I honestly enjoy these type of moments, being able to make a difference is one of the great things about my job and most of all is I get to be myself and enjoy every bit of it.

Lightning Up!

Last week we had a great lightning show! Around this time we had thought we were never going to get some rain. There were sporadic showers that only lasted for about 15 minutes but we enjoyed every bit of the beautiful lightning show. Not to mention the wind was at a tolerable speed that I chose to sit on the porch for a few hours playing the ukulele while my GoPro did it's part.

Home Away From Home

Unique birdhouse on my step-dad's 5 acre-backyard; Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Lately I have been going back home, which is a 95-mile drive to Northern Oklahoma. Although I did take advantage of couch-surfing and home-cooked meals. Being at home is something I have missed for about 2 years. But I will tell you this, it was well worth the trip. Spending valuable time with family and childhood friends was priceless. Nothing like re-living my youth and enjoying the good ole' moments of not having to worry about anything.

2 Mountains. 2 Days.

 Day One.

Mission accomplished. I conquered Mount Scott in the middle of March. The weather was tolerable enough for a 2,464ft. boulder hopping extravaganza!

 Day Two.

Objective completed. Conquered Elk Mountain. During the entire hiking trip, adrenaline flowed through my veins. Only for the sake of nature.

Get Outside and Run!

What are the odds that today's weather climate is wanting to make us stay inside all day? Maybe some of us want to skip class because walking against the wind from building to building can be a bit sacrificing. Although a better way to enjoy being outside, with the weather being bipolar as it is predicted for this current week, would be to GO RUN!
"Tis the season for a good jog!" Especially in this climate today. Once you get going, there is no stopping. It gets better and better if you don't stop. With the body generating heat while running is a great feeling with weather like this. Perhaps, it would be a better experience with the right running gear.  For starters, this is what I would suggest:

  • Wear running shorts (Maybe base-layers, personal choice.)
  • Sweat wick short/long-sleeve shirt
  • Light wind-resistant jacket
  • Headband/Ear-warmers/Beanie (Depending on tolerable wind MPH.)
  • Running gloves (optional.)
  • Light running shoe (Road or Trail Shoe. Depends on location.)
  • Water (Various portable sources.)
Go be somebody and definitely benefit your personal health by getting outside and going for a good run around your local neighborhoods!

Get Outside! No excuses..

Oh the beautiful days of Central Oklahoma are coming to a new beginning. It is the time of the year for 70-degree weather to creep in, slowly.
Time to get outside and be somebody!  There is no reason to stay indoors on days like these. Go for a hike, rather yet, go hit up the trails at Lake Arcadia for a good mountain bike session. Do yourself and I favor and

Mountain Biking Kind Of Day!

"When life gives you lemons, Go mountain biking!" On Wednesday, my friend Jake and I decided to hit the trails at Lake Arcadia. Such a beautiful day it was! We managed to bike approximately 5 miles. It took us at least an hour due to us stopping to catch our breaths every non-stop mile. Before we knew it, mile 4.9 was just on the other side of the hill.

Running In Winter Weather

Although our winter season is almost coming to an end, running throughout this cold season was amazing! Besides the fact of the chilly climate, running in the cold makes me feel somewhat better than I would be running in the dry Oklahoma heat.

For next year, please be sure to prepare yourself for dreadful cold fronts and blizzard-like climates because it WILL be coming for us. View this link and you will be ready for Winter weather running.

So, there is no excuse to NOT have the attitude and energy for a jog around the block next winter because you will be ready for it.

The Eyes Of The Reader

How will I get better at:

  • Addressing My Audience
  • Formatting My Blog
First of all, I want to be as discrete as possible. Having the excellent grammatical skills to indulge my audience into visiting my blog. Not necessarily meaning using "Big" words to sound relatively intelligent but to combine my addressing and formatting to develop my idea of what I want my blog to look like for the eyes of the reader.

When Cooking Goes Extraordinarily Right!

When I imagine cooking something it normally turns out to be a successful session of "Chef Cha Vs. The Range.
After class, I had the urge to cook and I also had a partial craving for something with pasta in it. I last minutely went to the grocery store and gathered all my ingredients and only spent under $20!

On top of being excited because I didn't have to puncture my bank account causing the pennies to spew out slowly.. I was about to make something I have never made before.

Long story short; I made this dish with few basic ingredients and it apparently turned out great!

My ingredients are listed as follows:
  •  Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • Rigatoni/Mostaccioli Pasta (Two kinds of pasta)
  • Fresh Sliced Mushroom
  • Pitted Kalamata Greek Olives
  • Roasted Red Pepper/Garlic with Basil (Two kinds of sauces)
  • Italian Mixed Cheeses
A great cook never reveals his secrets of HOW to cook. But! with a little common sense of cooking and the right tools and instruments it should be fairly easy to whip this dish up for any occasion!

Downtown OKC

First GoPro Video! It's amazing how having one of these versatile cameras can open the mind of creativity. I plan on working my way to many more of these short films. So keep posted and I will show you the day in the life of Everyday Cha!

My roommate Brandon and I accompanied his hometown/college friends from Nebraska to OKC's Bricktown in the heart of Downtown. We had so much fun! Next time I see these folks will most definitely be when I venture up North to their stomping grounds of festivities.

Enjoy the video! Preferably watch it in HD, the quality makes a huge difference!
